Our early childhood program is upgraded with an open ended curriculum that allows every child to progress at their own pace. The curriculum offers the child freedom to choose whatever they like to learn and master, whether it is practical skills, mathematics, language, science, art, writing, music, cultural studies, geography, and gross motor and fine motor skills.
We believe that learning takes place through the senses and we begin with a deep respect for the child as a unique individual. We nurture the full development of the individual, giving each child the tools and nurturing resiliency to respond to an ever changing world. The teachers prepare the environment and serve as facilitators to aid the process of “learning to learn”.
Our curriculum is carefully structured and integrated to demonstrate the connection among the different subject areas. The child learns through hands-on experience, investigation and research. He becomes engaged in his studies rather than passively waiting to be spoon fed. The child is free to work in groups or on his own. He may sit at a table or move about the room. Kindness, compassion, mutual respect and peace are also strongly emphasized.
By encouraging the child to become an independent thinker, he acquires an academic and social foundation that will support him throughout his life; as our core concept for the young learner is “education for life”.
