BRONZE MEDAL FROM ISTANBUL, TURKEY
After a four days competition in Istanbul, Turkey, AMANDA DWIKARINA & REGINA PUSPITA (10th graders) managed to secure 3rd place among 180 students from 41 countries.
The 17th Int’l Environmental Project Olympiad took place at the end of May 2009 and featured students from countries like UK and South Korea as well as Indonesia.
This presentation of "The Effects of Mango sap on the Growth of Escherichia coli bacteria" researched the use of mango sap to prevent the growth of Escherichia coli bacteria, which is a major cause of diarrhea. Additionally, this research showed how natural resources, such as mango sap can be used as a food preservative. (Ms. Irene & Mr. Antony Sutton)
