Java-Bali Guiding Tour
Study Tour is one of the activities that are fundamental for students of SMK Tourism. The students SMK Par sharpen their ability in the three basic skills. Three basic things are: knowledge about the tourism object, the skills to guide tourists and character maturity handling the tourists.
On 2008-2009 academic year, Grade 11-SMK Par did a practice- scouting tour to Java-Bali. Because of difficult weather situation the 14 days was changed to 10 days of activities.
What were their activities?
The program was determined by the school, daily implementation & all activities were done by the students. The students had to do tour-led in shifty as well as a travel writer. The Tour Leader had to manage daily activities, meanwhile the learning process was completed during the journey. Technical implementation of the study tour was done by bus and a flight for the return. We also had a layover in the West Java-Central Java-East Java and Bali as the final destination. All tourist destinations were visited in order to ameliorate their knowledge and an introduction. In conclusion, students learnt: the tourism attraction closely, tour leader, tourist guide, English fluency, leaderships, responsibility, and discipline.

Introduction to tourism is an essential part of the study tour program SMK par class X. Therefore, on Wednesday, Feb 5th, students of Gr. 10 practiced scouting tours and visited to tourist attraction, Jakarta National Monument (Monas). Again, the goal was to be up-close and deepen their understanding about it. The activity required to guide their friend as set by teacher. It was a beginning and gradually will increase the students public speaking & communication skills.

Introduction to historical places for students of Tourism and Vocational is an important part of their education. The historical substance an object is one of the important ingredient tourists would like to know. On 21 January, Grade ix SMK students organized a study tour to several historical shrines.
Students visited the Sion Church in Jayakarta street. Students also toured the Museum Arsip Nasional and completed their study tour at Petak Sembilan Temple in Glodok.
It was important for the students who are becoming a tour guide among their friends. This method trained their skills in guiding tourists (Mr. Marcel)

TMII is highly recommended place for people interested in seeing the rich diversity of Indonesian Culture in one place. Most of Indonesian culture can be enjoyed by exhibits representing in each province, in Indonesia.
The Objective of the 10th Grade field trip, organized on 27 January 2009, was to acknowledge culture and how to share it with others. Through these activities the students were able to broaden their knowledge and skills in order to reach their goals in tourism field. (Mr. Marcel)
