It’s been a yearly agenda that Santa Laurensia Elementary School holds a Science Fair. This year’s 7th Science Fair’s theme was REUSE-REDUCE-RECYCLE-RENEW-REGREEN. On February 21, the opening of the Science Fair was done by the principal of Santa Laurensia Elementary School, Mr. Daniel Terry Dipo.

Like the years before, all students from grade one to six took part in presenting a science project from the materials they have been learning in class. The students seemed very enthusiastic in presenting their projects which made many parents and other visitors impressed with their confidence.

To encourage and appreciate their hard effort in preparing this project, an award was given for the best project and best presentation.

This year’s Science Fair was really exciting with games, bazaar and a seminar. We also presented pottery displays, a book fest and a final robotic contest. Visitors were also given a chance to make pottery. Parents joined their children in games. Everyone was playing and learning together.

As for the seminar, this year we held four seminars with different topics. We offered: Mathematics Skill in Primary Mathematics; Helping your child in studying Science effectively, English Exploration English – language through inquiry and discovery and Computer Browsing Safely.

For the bazaar and the book fest, visitors were very enthusiast with the products. Some have already booked for a stand at next year’s fair. What a day! (Mr. Yulius, Ms. Heni & Mr. Timothy M. Leonard)
