Culture Trips to Perth,Bali, and Puncak

Cultural Trips performed by SMA St. Laurensia Students.

 

Second week of this month, April ‘08, SMA St. Laurensia had organized study trips for XI students into three different places: Perth, Bali and Puncak, Bogor. These trips were designed to give real life experience for students. They were required to live and work closely with local people. These trips were conducted for a week. First trip, which consists of 20 students, had home stay with Australian residents in Perth, Australia (Aussie). They lived and studied together with Australian students, organized by Margareth River High School. During their stay in Perth, they also carried out cultural mission to promote Indonesian traditional dances and drama to Australian people. The second trip, which had the largest students consist of more than 100 students, with the mission to learn traditional Balinese culture. Students were divided into 2 big groups with different destinations to visit in Bali. The third trip spent its time working with local people in Puncak, Bogor area. Same as two trips above, they also carried out mission to observe and to live with local culture. (Mr. Gunawan Wang)
