FAMILY & EARTH DAY

Family is an important factor in child development. A warmth relationship, sharing, togetherness, communication, and caring are not only matters in quantity but also quality. Those will affect how and what a child would be. To know each other and try to be a team work can be done in many activities which involve the whole family. Therefore, to make it real, Santa Laurensia Kindergarten held a family Saturday on 29^th March 2008. The committee had prepared the day and arranged some activities and competition that involved the students and their family to take part. As it was also an earth day, the activities also referred to “save our earth”, such as: bean sorting competition, reuse & recycling competition, and sorting organic & inorganic matter competition. Nevertheless, we also held a child & father fried rice cooking competition and a story-telling by SIMETRIS (a group of Senior High students who concerns about social & environment problems). All family tried to show their best teamwork that day even couple families wore a thematic t-shirts for the whole family member and everyone had a happy time together. (Ms. Irene)
