Science for some children is a terrifying subject but for Santa Laurensia’s students, all the theories can be so much fun with researches. All elementary grades displayed and presented their observations in front of the parents and friends. On 23^rd February was really kind of a huge event in Einstein Hall. All graders were preparing their projects to be presented in classes, movies were showed in multifunction room, angklung room were changed into a games zone, and seminars were held to transfer knowledge for parents and public. There was an interesting booth by FBIS students which they did drugs & cigarettes campaign for the visitors.

We exposed some interesting topics to be discussed in the seminars with expertises, such as: Mr. Santiago Gonzales (Science teacher for elementary) “Science: Parental Guidance Recomended”, Mr. Theja Kurniawan, MPd (Coordinator for Mathematics) “Fun Mathematics”, Ms. Shintawati Halim, MTech (Coordinator for Computer) “Computer is not Just a Game”, Ms. Jeane Budiwati Tjandiagung, MSc (Head of Research & Development) “Mengembangkan Anak Melalui Sains”, Mr. Gunawan Wang, MCom (Senior High Vice Principal) “Internet: Positive or Negative?”,  & Mr. Yohanes Surya,Ph.D (Physics expertise) “Science is GASING (Gampang, Asyik, & Menyenangkan)”.

A week before Science Fair in elementary, on 16^th February, Junior High also held the same event. For Junior High students, their researches were more complicated than elementary ones but still it was interesting projects. Some of them were: Launching a Water Rocket, “How Different Size of Seeds Affect its Ideal Planting Depth”, “What is the Best Material to Make the Shelter of Silk-worms Cocoons?”, etc. Even this event was not only about science but it was differentiated into some other zones: language zone, art zone, social zone, etc which they presented all their school works/projects. It was really amazing to see what they have done/studied in school. Two thumbs up! (Irene)
