What is Integrated Subjects (Pelajaran Terpadu)?

 

This teaching demo was held so the parents knew well and got better understanding what is the exactly integrated subjects and how the teachers teach integrated subject in the class room, which are consist of: Indonesian, art & crafts, social studies, science, and moral studies (the subjects taught depends on the theme). Thus, Santa Laurensia Elementary teachers invited parents from grade three to join the class so they knew exactly the study process in class, and what were their children activities, and how the marks were taken.

 

Topic of the day was about job & profession. Even though the teaching-learning activities was modified because of the limited time (compared to the real teaching time), the discussion, Q & A, oral & written tests, performance task, presentation, etc were well-delivered to the pupils. The teachers taught as usual; the only difference was the pupils, they had parents to be the pupils for that day. For example, the pupils were distributed books then they had to read it & discuss it. The “pupils of the day” were so cooperative and enthusiastic to join the whole activities from the very beginning to the end.

 

The parents said that this teaching demo was a great event for parents, to get closer and know more about Santa Laurensia as their trust to educate and help their children to be a better person in the future. (Ms. Endang & Ms. Jeane)
